Uncovering Neurodegenerative Insights Through Ethnic Diversity Lead Investigator: Tavia Evans Institution : Erasmus MC E-Mail : t.evans@erasmusmc.nl Proposal ID : 1200 Proposal Description: We Aim To Investigate Neurodegeneration With A Particular Focus On High-Dimensional Markers Such As Imaging And Genetics. We aim to do this by creating brain maps of neurodegenerative diseases using high dimensional imaging markers from large amounts of data, population based and case-control, from around the world. The NACC data will be incorporated in a larger meta-analysis (currently N>50k). Herein we aim to use structural MR scans to create high dimensional markers such as subcortical shape metrics, cortical thickness, subcortical volume measures, voxel based morphometry, and white matter tract metrics. These will then be used to create brain maps of neurodegenerative diseases (AD, FTD, PD, others) and, separately, of other available data such as genetics. Depending on the type of data, this will mainly be done via cox and logistic regression models, where we would also like to take into account demographic factors to the extent available and cognitive status. The NACC data will be included in the consortium-wide meta-analysis and the resulting maps will be made publicly available.
